God’s glory is his presence made manifest in intensity. Perhaps the most important aspect of God’s glory for us is the one shown to Moses on Mount Sinai, namely his goodness, mercy and compassion when Moses made the request, ‘Now show me your glory’. It is this aspect of God’s nature that is central to this study.
The study is arranged in two parts. The first traces the theme of the glory of God made present amid the cherubim and palm trees throughout the Bible; the second is a study guide in four parts, made up of questions that direct your attention to important aspects of the story and their relevance to your own life.
You can do the study on your own, or by studying in a group. Whichever method you choose, learn to listen for what the Holy Spirit has to tell you about your beliefs, attitudes and life-style. Ask yourself what lessons you should be learning from your readings, so that you can apply them to your own understanding and life as a Christian.
