My Lord and My God covers the time after the exile when God’s work of preparing his people drew to its close, focusing particularly on books that sustained their faith through praise and contemplation of God’s nature as they waited for Christ’s coming. It then reviews literature in the New Testament that likewise feeds our spirits as we wait for his return. The great themes you will find yourself most frequently discussing are:
- God’s sovereignty and his wisdom,
- our worship and our contemplation of his nature,
- the Lordship of Christ and the challenges of discipleship.
Although you may use this study on its own, it is designed primarily as a weekly workbook to accompany the reading guide, supported by a set of 20 minute talks, one for each week’s readings. The talks are available to buy as downloadable MP3 files.
